“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.’” — Fred Rogers

YWCA North Central Washington appreciates all of the hard work and support our volunteers have given to us. Volunteers are a vital part of YWCA NCW. By sharing your time and talents with us, you join a team of individuals who are making a difference for women and families seeking critical services including those who are homeless and underprivileged.

Volunteers are a vital addition to our team for events and programs. Most commonly they assist with Estate Sales and the YWCA lot sales. All events put on by YWCA NCW have been made possible through the hard work of our volunteers. YWCA NCW’s Board of Directors is made up exclusively of volunteers, as well as all committees such as our Fundraising, Nominating, and Community Engagement and Advocacy Committees. Volunteers may choose to help out at the Store or provide life skills classes to our guests in the Education Room. Every person who has benefited from YWCA NCW’s programs has done so because our Volunteers made it possible for us to help them.

If you would like to volunteer to help YWCA NCW, come by our Main Office Monday through Friday from 10:00a to 3:00p to fill out an application. You can download and print an application here: 2016 Volunteer Application.

“When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed.” — Maya Angelou

Etymologically philanthropy means, “The love of humanity,” in the sense of what it is to be human. It is the essence of our humanity; voluntary action for the common good. It is a tradition of giving and sharing that is primary to the quality of life.

YWCA values the support of its donors. Without your support and generosity we would be unable to help even a fraction of the people who have received our aid. We are thankful to the donors who make our mission possible.

While cash donations are always important for the continued services provided to our guests and community, it is not the only way you can help. Our Store sells goods that have been donated to us by individuals in our community. Clothes, housewares, dishes and silverware, books, toys, and more are wonderful items to donate. You can also donate non-perishable food and hygiene products for our housing programs by bringing them to our Main Office during our open hours.

To give a cash donation, come in to our Main Office during open hours or Donate with PayPal.
