YWCA NCW hires new staff members

WENATCHEE — The YWCA of North Central Washington has named Sherry Dawley its new development director and Susan Thornsberry as manager of the YWCA Thrift Store manager.YWCA NCW, 212 First St., serves to empower women, eliminate racism, help families, strengthen the community, and stand up for social justice.Executive Director Jenny Pratt  announced the appointments Tuesday.Dawley, from Centralia, will oversee donor development, fundraising and communications. She has previous experience with YWCA Seattle, Group Health Cooperative, and 501 Commons.Thornsberry, from Wenatchee, will lead efforts to renew the YWCA Thrift Store. She has over 10 years of experience in both thrift retail and big-box retail.Proceeds from the store support YWCA economic empowerment programs and homeless housing and support programs for job training for shelter residents and community members.
