Thank you! to the Wenatchee Community

Wenatchee,

When I moved here in October 2019, I had no idea what an incredible community this was. I moved here more or less sight unseen, excited about challenging yet rewarding work awaiting me at YWCA NCW. The team at YWCA NCW was my first indication that this community had a huge heart. This team’s willingness to not only bring me on board, but their flexibility in working with me to set up new structures, expectations and processes truly shows their passion and dedication to our work. Fast forward a few months, and we find ourselves in the COVID-19 pandemic.

When we made the decision to temporarily close our thrift store, we were facing a very uncertain future. However, within a matter of weeks, Wenatchee as a whole community has surged forward in support of YWCA NCW, and we are so fortunate! Our pantry, which is accessible to our 30+ housing residents, went from nearly empty to so full from donations that our residents will not have risk their health going grocery shopping for a while. We’ve received emergency grants from Numerica Credit Union and Wenatchee Confluence Rotary Club, and have received so many donations for our thrift store that once we re-open, our store will be fully stocked. All of this has happened because of the generosity and passion of this community.

We are forever grateful for your support, in whatever form that comes! I wanted to personally take a moment to give a sincere ‘Thank You.’ I am not sure I will ever be able to fully express how incredible it is to be part of community that is so dedicated to lifting each other up instead of competition for who can get the highest. YWCA NCW will continue to provide services to the most vulnerable, thanks to you!”

Sincerely,Rachel Todd, Interim Executive DirectorYWCA North Central Washington
