YWCA NCW Holds Two Benefit Performances: Eve Ensler's 'The Vagina Monologues'
WENATCHEE, WA. Feb 6, 2020– YWCA NCW is pleased to announce two benefit showings of The Vagina Monologues. Over twenty years ago, Eve Ensler’s play The Vagina Monologues gave birth to V–Day, a global activist movement to end violence against all women, girls and those affected by gender-based violence. Since 1998, The Vagina Monologues and other works have been performed across the world by local V-Day activists, raising over $100 million dollars for grassroots anti-violence groups, rape crisis centers, domestic violence shelters, and safe houses.“Putting on this production again, with another fantastic cast gives me hope for the direction of Wenatchee. We weren’t sure how 2019 would go and we’re excited to build on the undisputed success of last year,” said Dusti Mahoney, YWCA NCW Programs Manager and director of the production. “All money raised will go back towards helping YWCA NCW on our mission to empower women and eliminate racism in North Central Washington,” said Mahoney.
