Mission Statement

YWCA NCW is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. Our local vision is to empower women, men, and children to break the cycle of economic insecurity and homelessness and achieve self-sufficiency through assistance, support, and education.

Food Drive

March 9th, 9am - 3pm at Plaza Super Jet (106 Okanogan Ave) and Grocery Outlet (1616 N Wenatchee Ave). Grab a shopping list from the YWCA Table at the enterance and help us restock our pantry with non-perishables and personal hygiene goods.

Our in-house pantry stays full primarily through donations and participation in these food drives. Our shelves are looking bare, and we need your help filling them up! All people receiving housing, case management and supportive services from YWCA NCW regularly utilize this critical resource. Your donations will directly impact the lives of our community’s most needy.

Women’s History Month

Empowering Communities, Advancing Justice

Women’s financial empowerment is essential to the work we do at YWCA NCW, ensuring women - especially women of color - are empowered to pursue their dreams and be financially independant. During Women’s History Month, learn more about our empowerment programming.

YWCA North Central Washington supports women’s empowerment and economic advancement, with a particular focus on the reality the way race impacts women’s economic opportunities. We serve women with economic empowerment programs such as enrichment classes, job training, case management, and harm-reduction services. In addition, our housing programs are strong foundations on which women and families can build their financial futures.

Until Justice Just Is

Formally known as Stand Against Racism

This year, our racial justice campaign centers around the theme Building Bridges to Equity. The 2024 YWCA Racial Justice Challenge topics are: Bodily Autonomy, Women’s Financial Empowerment/Caregiving, Gun Violence, and Transportation.

The YWCA Racial Justice Challenge is designed to create dedicated time and space to build more effective social justice habbits, particularly those dealing with issues of race, power, privilege, and leadership. The Challenge works to foster personal reflection, encourage social responsibility, and motivate participants to identify and act on ways to dismantle racism and other forms of discrimination.

For four weeks, starting on Monday, April 1, daily challenge activities (reading an article, listening to a podcast, reflecting on personal experience, etc.) are posted in the Challenge app and website, allowing participants to connect with one another, discover how racial and social injustice impact our communities, and identify ways to dismantle racism and other forms of discrimination. Each week covers a different topic related to equity and social justice. Daily activities are not posted on the weekends.

More YWCA NCW event information is on the way and will be available on our website events calendar and social media platforms.
